WEST ISLAND KARATE ® / KARATÉ DE L'ÎLE

West Island Karate ® and Karaté de L'Île are martial arts schools located in Beaconsfield and Île-Perrot, respectively, on the west island of Montreal, Quebec, Canada (also serving Pincourt, Kirkland, Pierrefonds, Pointe-Claire and Dollard-des-Ormeaux).  The dojo (school) was founded by Shihan John Kalaidopoulos (5th Dan) in 1997.  West Island Karate / Karaté de L'Île hosts the West Island Karate Championships, our annual tournament for juniors and adults which is one of the premier events of its kind in Canada.  We teach Kyokushin Karate the traditional way in a friendly, family-oriented environment with an emphasis on technique, physical fitness, and the building of the mind and spirit.  While always having fun and being challenged, our students learn much more than a respected martial art and self-defense.  They also learn invaluable lessons which can be applied to every aspect of their lives, now and in the future.  This is the Kyokushin way.

The West Island Karate / Karaté de L'Île website serves several purposes:

1. To convey what West Island Karate and Karaté de L'Île are all about and to show that we are not just any typical karate dojo...our spirit, knowledge and sense of community set us apart.


2. To act as a bulletin board for our students and their families by announcing news and upcoming events.
